Police on Monday arrested a Boston man after an investigation into attainable drug trafficking at a lodge in Ellsworth.
Investigators with the Maine Drug Enforcement Company’s Down East Activity Power working with the Ellsworth Police Division performed surveillance on a room on the Hawthorn Prolonged Keep Resort after receiving complaints of suspected drug trafficking there, the MDEA stated in a information launch.
Brokers had been granted a search warrant for the lodge room. On Monday at about 9:30 p.m., they searched the room and seized greater than 180 grams of crack cocaine, 16 grams of fentanyl, 15 grams of the sedative Xylazine, 3 grams of cocaine and $566 in suspected drug proceeds, in line with the MDEA.
Authorities charged Asa Polk, 40, with two counts of Class A aggravated trafficking in Schedule W medicine and illegal possession of a Schedule W drug.
Polk is scheduled to be arraigned in Hancock County Court docket on Wednesday. The MDEA stated his bail has not been set “because of the seriousness of the costs.”
