New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) The Congress Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “insulting” President Droupadi Murmu by remaining seated whereas she offered the Bharat Ratna to BJP veteran L Okay Advani.

President Murmu conferred the nation’s highest civilian honour on BJP stalwart and former deputy prime minister Advani at his residence right here on Sunday.

Addressing a press convention on the AICC headquarters right here on Monday, Chairman of the Unorganised Staff and Staff Congress Udit Raj stated that whereas giving the award to Advani, President Murmu was standing whereas Modi was sitting “like a king”, which amounted to disrespect to the President of the nation.

Raj alleged that the Modi authorities was repeatedly insulting President Murmu and had additionally insulted former President Ramnath Kovind.

He stated such insult was aimed on the tribals and Dalits and it’ll not be tolerated.
