Nearly 10 years after Dragon Age: Inquistion, an insider claims the subsequent entry within the sequence will probably be out inside 10 months.

It’s been over 5 years since Dragon Age: Dreadwolf was formally introduced and, apart from a number of small teasers, we’ve hardly seen something from it since.

The last teaser arrived in December and showed little of any substance, outside of some nice artwork, but it did confirm a full reveal is planned for summer 2024.

According to inside source Jeff Grubb, there won’t be long to wait between this reveal and the game’s actual release date.

Speaking on his podcast Game Mess Decides, Grubb said that he expects Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to be shown ‘sometime this summer’ before it is ‘released this year’.

‘They’re pretty confident about that,’ Grubb said, referring to his sources. ‘Doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee, could slip. But right now internally they expect to release it later this year.’

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is the fourth mainline entry in the franchise, following 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. It’s also the first original game from BioWare since 2019’s Anthem, which marked another flop for the studio after Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Aside from it taking place in Thedas, and featuring the character Solas in some capacity, little else is known about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. A blog post last year, however, teased it would be significantly bigger in scope.

‘This time, however, much more of Thedas is yours to see,’ the post read. ‘The desolate, beautiful badlands of the Anderfels with curtains of distant mountainous spires. The twisting canals and gleaming towers of Antiva, where Crows may lurk in any shadow. The turquoise seas of Rivain with its rushes of greenery and hardy sea-faring people. And of course, there’s more.’

However, considering how long it’s been since BioWare’s main team has released a role-playing game (Andromeda was by their Montreal studio, which was afterwards downgraded to a support studio and then merged with Motive), and combined with the lack of official information, it’s very hard to know what to expect.
