The Gainesville Hurricanes baseball staff misplaced to visiting Oak Corridor, 5-4, on Monday.
Large Fly Places Gainesville Forward
After an early RBI double by Oak Corridor’s Gavin Jones, Gainesville (6-10) appeared to achieve some momentum on the plate to place the stress on Oak Corridor.
The third was owned by the Hurricanes, as after an RBI single by Chris Eckhardt, sophomore Connor Kemph stepped as much as the plate. With two runners on and two out, Kemph blasted the ball down the left discipline line for a three-run homer to place Gainesville up 4-1. The hit was Kemph’s first profession residence run and was a much-needed increase in turning the tides of the sport in Gainesville’s favor.

Oak Corridor Responds
Regardless of being down three runs, Oak Corridor (8-3) continued to hold round with Gainesville. Pitcher Troy Freeman gathered himself after the homer, pitching two shutout innings to maintain his aspect within the recreation.
The Eagles then put one run on the board within the fifth after a wild pitch to make the sport 4-2.
Oak Corridor utilized the sixth to take again management of the sport, capitalizing on the basepaths by loading the bases on two infield singles and an error.
