Kerala CM seeks Centre’s intervention for safe return of 3 from cargo ship seized by Iran

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday sought the intervention of the exterior affairs ministry in search of the secure return of Indian nationals together with three from the state who’re onboard a seized Israel-linked cargo ship within the gulf area.

Vijayan wrote a letter to Union Exterior Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar right this moment sharing the considerations of the Kerala authorities over the welfare and security of the crew members of the ship MSC Aries, which was seized by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards close to the Strait of Hormuz.

Official sources on Friday mentioned India has referred to as on Iranian authorities by diplomatic channels, each in Tehran and Delhi, to make sure the welfare and early launch of the 17 Indian crew members of the cargo ship ‘MSC Aries’.

The MSC (Mediterranean Delivery Firm) mentioned it’s working carefully with related authorities for the well-being of 25 crew members and the return of the vessel.
