Two individuals have been arrested and 34 electrical motorbikes, e-scooters and scramblers have been seized together with three quad bikes and a jet ski throughout a collection of garda searches in Dublin yesterday.
The operation was carried out as a part of Operation Meacan, which goals to deal with using electrical motorbikes getting used for legal exercise, together with drug dealing, cash laundering and shifting firearms.
The e-vehicles are used on footpaths, parks and laneways as a means of evading gardaí.
Nineteen groups, together with members of the Armed Help Unit and Nationwide Canine Unit, searched 40 properties and seized ten Surron electrical motorbikes, valued between €4,000 and €10,000; 12 motorbikes and scramblers; 12 electrical bicycles and e-scooters and three quad bikes.
A jet-ski and trailer, estimated to be price round €10,000, was additionally seized.
Cocaine and hashish valued at €8,000, 5 designer watches – together with one Tag Heuer and 4 Rolex watches – together with €42,950 and round €25,000 of designer items have been seized.
Two individuals have been arrested over excellent bench warrants.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
