The UNSW Nuclear Innovation Centre has been launched to advance Australia’s nuclear science business.
It’s supported by a $7.5 million donation from the Sir William Tyree Basis which can set up analysis scholarships in nuclear engineering.
It’s the largest nuclear engineering program in Australia.
Defence Trade Minister Pat Conroy formally opened the centre and hailed it as a “vital” improvement.
It comes as consultants have expressed concern over Australia’s capability to achieve their web zero 2050 targets with out having enough nuclear power sources.
