MANILA, Philippines — College of Santo Tomas rookie Angge Poyos is taking her first collegiate profession loss in stride as she guarantees to work tougher for the rest of the UAAP Season 86 girls’s volleyball event.
UST’s eight-game unbeaten run was snapped by Nationwide College with a vengeful 23-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 victory on Sunday night in entrance of 10,000 followers at Good Araneta Coliseum.
It wasn’t solely UST’s first setback of the season but in addition Poyos’ first style of defeat within the UAAP girls’s division.

“Siguro ‘yung talo namin ngayon gagawin nalang naming motivation sa mga susunod na mga video games kasi nga na-sweep namin ‘yung first spherical and nagkaroon kami ng talo ngayong second spherical. So, ayun, gagawin naming motivation para magazine pursigi pa sa mga subsequent video games,” stated Poyos, who led UST with 18 factors and 14 wonderful receptions.
Regardless of sliding to an 8-1 file, Poyos remained optimistic, believing the irritating loss would solely make them higher.
“Yun nga sabi ni Coach (Kungfu Reyes), daming nagkulang sa sport na ‘to. Unang una nawala sa amin is communication and nawalan din kami ng gana noong patapos na na set,” Poyos stated. “And hindi naman natatapos dito ang lahat, nonetheless nasa high pa rin kami, 8-1, so ang want lang namin gawin is magazine bounce again. ‘Yung mga kulang namin, ‘yung mga want namin i-improve gagawin namin.”

Poyos, who dove and hit the LED board of their five-set win over Ateneo final Wednesday, admitted she damage her leg, which affected her efficiency, though she cleared it wasn’t an excuse.
“Para sa akin naka-affect pero nagkaroon namin ako ng time para maka-recover. Nagkaroon ako ng three days para maka-recover. Ngayon okay naman, okay ako sa efficiency na ginawa ko, and blissful kasi nakapag-contribute pa rin, though hindi 100%,” she stated.
Poyos will take time to get better throughout the Holy Week break however she may even recharge spiritually and emotionally by visiting her household in Bohol earlier than they face Adamson on April 3 at Mall of Asia Enviornment.
“For me siguro three days break, uuwi ako ng province. So ayun, sa self ko siguro, maayos na mindset and pagbalik pukpukan ulit. Gagawin ko ‘yung greatest para sa group,” she stated.
