Reneé Rapp calls for ‘immediate’ and ‘permanent ceasefire’ in Gaza at GLAAD Media Awards

The 24-year-old Imply Women star made the plea whereas accepting the award for Excellent Music Artist on the Thursday (14 March) ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton lodge in Los Angeles.

The 2024 ceremony was hosted by Wayne Brady, with Niecy Nash-Betts and Oprah Winfrey receiving particular honours.

Nash-Betts, 54, accepted the Stephen F Kolzak Award for an out LGBTQ one who raises visibility for the neighborhood, whereas Winfrey, 70, was given the Vanguard Award for allyship and selling equal rights for LGBT folks.

Rapp joins different high-profile figures who’ve used their platform to name for a ceasefire in Gaza, together with The Zone of Curiosity director Jonathan Glazer, who spoke out in opposition to Israel’s occupation in Gaza on the 2024 Oscars.
