Shell Egypt hosts local Shell Eco-Marathon for Egyptian student teams to showcase energy-efficient vehicles

9 groups of Egyptian Engineering college students representing seven universities participated at present within the Shell Eco-Marathon Egypt native showcase to current and check self-built energy-efficient automobiles which they designed and manufactured, competing for prizes amounting to virtually USD 30,000. Shell Eco-Marathon helps the event of future engineers’ expertise and fosters innovation. The native showcase is a part of Shell Egypt’s social funding initiatives which align with the nation’s goal for cleaner and extra sustainable mobility options.  

The worldwide Shell Eco-marathon competitors challenges pupil groups from world wide to design, construct and check ultra-energy-efficient automobiles. Engines will be powered by varied varieties and forms of gasoline, together with hydrogen cells or lithium batteries. The final word purpose is to assemble a automobile that goes furthest with the least quantity of power. Throughout the native showcase, 9 groups representing seven Egyptian universities launched 9 energy-efficient cars to Shell executives and employees, in addition to companions and related stakeholders. 

The judging panel included Alaa ElDabaa, Head of Company Relations and authorities Relations at Shell Egypt, Paul Johnson, World Technical Director of the Shell Eco-marathon, and Ahmed Hamada, Head of Contracts and Procurement at Shell Egypt {and professional} racing driver.

The GUC Innovators workforce, representing the German College in Cairo, gained first place within the Automotive Inspection Awards, adopted by the Increased Expertise Institute’s ‘APEX Racing Crew’ in second place, and the Cairo College’s City Idea workforce in third place.  

For the groups pitching competitors, the ‘E-Rally Crew’ representing Helwan College gained first place, whereas the ‘GUC Innovators’ workforce got here in second place, and the ASU Racing Crew representing Ain Shams College ranked third.
