TMC complaints to EC about PM Modi’s model code ‘violation’

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress on Monday complained to the Election Fee alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who’s the BJP candidate from Varanasi, has violated the mannequin code of conduct through the use of central authorities funds for campaigning.

In a letter addressed to the chief election commissioner, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien mentioned a message by the PM highlighting his authorities’s programmes reached the voters on March 16, after the mannequin code of conduct got here into power.

Modi has purportedly written the message within the type of a letter to the voters on March 15, the TMC chief claimed.

O’Brien mentioned that the price of sending the prime minister’s letter to the voters also needs to be included within the accounts of the BJP and Modi towards the top “election expenditure.”
