Two individuals are lifeless after being hit by
an avalanche on Sunday within the Val Formazza, a valley within the
Piedmont province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, rescuers stated.
The avalanche happened between Lake Toggia and the San Giacomo
cross, at an altitude of about 2,200 metres, not removed from the
Swiss border.
Rescuers pulled the physique of one of many victims out of the snow
and the corpse of the opposite deceased particular person was recovered from
the lake.
The deceased had been named as Vanessa Gatti, a 30-year-old from
Saronno, within the province of Varese, and Roberto Biancon, 53,
from Legnano, close to Milan.
