Synopsis
The ashes of Murthy, who passed away in August in Leh during a biking trip, were lying in Mumbai’s Vikhroli crematorium unclaimed. His sister says she had to take matter into her own hands after her several reminders were ignored.
It was a Thursday afternoon at the Tagore Nagar crematorium in Mumbai’s Vikhroli. The grim reaper seems to be having a slow day without much activity. Shambavi Vedantam Murty, dressed in a blue T-shirt and jeans, and her friend, wake up the caretaker to inform him about the purpose of their visit.
