BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Police in Vermont are looking for a suspect who allegedly began a hearth Friday outdoors the workplace of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders. The small blaze precipitated minor damages however no accidents.

Authorities say an unknown male suspect sprayed what they described as a doable accelerant on the workplace door, set it on fireplace and fled. They mentioned the suspect remained at giant and no motive had been established.

“A big fireplace engulfed the door and a part of the vestibule, impeding the egress of employees members who have been working within the workplace and endangering their lives,” Burlington police mentioned in a press release. “The sprinkler system then engaged and largely extinguished the fireplace.”

Earlier within the day, the Burlington Hearth Division mentioned it responded to a name Friday morning and located a hearth between the vestibule, the elevator and the doorway door of Sanders’ third-floor workplace in Burlington. The workplace door suffered reasonable fireplace harm and far of the third ground sustained important water harm. The workplaces of Sanders and people close by have been evacuated.

A spokesperson for Sanders didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark. Sanders was not on the workplace.
